Our
programs outside of the USA are now under the umbrella
of our new non- profit organization: ASSOCIATION
OF INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EXCHANGE.
AIDE
was created in 2007 in order to allow Alliance Abroad
Group to expand its reach and to give back to the
local and global communities, as well as create socially
responsible citizens. AIDE now operates independently
from Alliance Abroad Group, but continues to draw
from its 16 years of expertise and experience in program
management and support.

Live
with a Spanish family and teach your native language
(English, German, French or Italian), in exchange
for room and board. You will generally be asked to
work an average of 15 hours per week, Monday through
Friday, providing lessons and conversation in your
native language. This may be more or less formal,
depending upon the family. You will have weekends
and the rest of the time free to sightsee, learn about
Spanish culture and make new friends!

18
- 30 years old
Able

Be
a native speaker of English, German, French, or Italian

Location:
Placements can be found throughout
Spain, though mostly concentrated in Madrid, including
their surrounding suburban areas. We will do our best
to take all preferences into consideration. Please
be prepared to take public transportation into the
city if you are placed in the suburbs; it should take
you no longer than 1 hour to the center of the city.
Length
of program:
This program is for 1 – 3 months. However, longer
placements are available if you are taking classes
in Spain and can qualify for a student visa. Start
dates:
Positions are available throughout the year. However,
we cannot guarantee a specific start date as they
are always subject to the availability of the Host
Family and schedule of the children. There are fewer
families available during the summer months, especially
July and August, when Spanish families are on holiday.

ESL teaching methods and lesson plans so that you are
ready when you arrive at your host family’s house.
Network
of Friends:
throughout your stay, you will be provided with the
name and email addresses of the other Language Assistants
in your area. This offers you an instant network of
