Program Eligibility

Individuals interested in applying for the H-2B Program must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible for the Program:

  • Age  Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Some positions may require that participants be at least 21 years of age, depending on the type of position being requested and duties/responsibilities pertaining to that particular position
  • English Level  Individuals must be capable and comfortable functioning in an English-speaking work environment. English levels vary depending on the position being requested.
  • Education  The minimum level of education that is required is a high school degree or diploma. It is possible that some employers may require a higher level of education for a specific job or position.
  • Experience  Most of the positions for the H-2B Program are unskilled and do not require any specific level of experience. Some employers will request that participants have a specific level of experience in a particular industry or job in order to be accepted for the position
